LOCAL COUNTIES RECIEVE GRANT MONEY FOR AREA PROJECTS

(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Farm Bureau has announced the 2023-2024 recipients of its new grant program supporting rural development efforts. Grants were awarded to ten projects, each from a different county. Two Farm Bureaus received funds in our downstate area. Clay County will use the money to provide community members with transportation to health care, employment readiness classes, life coaching sessions, and more. Edwards County will use the funds to support the Roy M. Luthe Park in Albion with a long-term plan to renovate the park after 40 years of no upgrades. In total, $30,000 will be spread out among the ten recipients to meet specific needs in their communities, counties, and/or rural areas.
