(DIETERICH) An Effingham County business has been awarded a $2.5 million investment startup agreement with the State of Illinois and the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, as announced yesterday. Frichtl’s Processing & Slaughtering, LLC, owned and operated by wife & husband, Rachel & Zach Frichtl, will use the funds to expand their company by purchasing space in Dieterich’s new Industrial Park East and construct a new 9,227-square-foot meat processing and packaging facility, which will eventually create six new full-time jobs. Founded in 2023, the local company began to help fill the gap in the meat processing market in our downstate southern Illinois region.
