WEDNESDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (04/16/2025)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) With a high pressure ridge hanging over much of the Mississippi River Valley today, we’ll have plenty of sunshine, maybe some clouds this afternoon, plus some warmer air in place for this Wednesday, but changes are on the way. A developing warm front will lift northward across our downstate area by tonight bringing with it a chance of rain by midday tomorrow, then followed by more on-and-off rain chances Friday night and through the holiday weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, as that frontal boundary stalls out and waivers up and down across the state. Eventually the rain will end by next Monday nightwith above normal temperatures expected next week. Stay tuned for forecast updates.

(LINCOLN) The National Weather Service still has hopes of getting NOAA Weather Radio Station KXI-48 in Newton back on the air this week. The weather station has been off the air for the past few months due to antenna failure, but repair work was set for this week.
