EFFINGHAM MAN NOW IN CUSTODY

(EFFINGHAM) The Illinois State Police has identified an Effingham man as a suspect in a serious hit-and-run traffic crash that occurred a month ago yesterday, on September 28th, at 11:19 that night, at the intersection of Holiday Drive & North Maple Street in Effingham, when an unidentified female victim was struck while riding her scooter, sustaining serious injuries and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The State Police report that 39 year old Dustin Brown has been charged with failure to report a crash involving injury or death (Class 2 Felony), for failure to report a crash involving injury (Class 4 Felony), and for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident (Class A Misdemeanor). The suspect, Dustin Brown of Effingham, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
