(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board of Education met for its regular monthly meeting in May last night in Olney. The Board : approved the April financial report with the monthly bill listing worth $3,076,191 : recognized various teams, athletes, and students for accomplishments : heard an update on the IRS penalties from 2019, 2021, and 2022 : heard updates on the Athletic Complex and on the District’s 2026 Assessment Data : approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Tentative Amended Budget as presented : approved various curriculum contracts for the 2026-2027 school year : approved the $46,960 bid from Republic Services for the District’s yearly trash collection : in personnel – approved four notifications of intent to retire at the end of the 2029-2030 school year, from RCMS Math Teacher Julie Clodfelther, RCHS Science Teacher Curt Nealis, RCES Physical Education Teacher Lori Westall, and Speech-Language Pathologist Lore Rubenacker – accepted the retirement notice from Bus Aide Brenda Dunahee effective May 29th, 2026 – accepted five resignations effective at the end of this 2025-2026 school year, from Ben Inskeep as RCMS 6th Grade Girls Basketball Coach, Lauren Eagleson as RCHS Assistant Basketball Coach, Dakotah Brown as RCHS Assistant Boys Basketball Coach, Charlie McDowell as RCHS Boys Freshman/Assistant Basketball Coach, and Chad Koester as RCHS Bass Fishing Coach – accepted other resignations from Ronda Hance as Part-Time Paraprofessional at St. Joe School, Kaitlynn Burton as RCMS Paraprofessional, from Jessica Bailey as RCES Food Service Staff Member, Virginia Hicks as RCMS Food Service Staff Member, Chelsea Puckett as RCHS Chemistry Teacher, Emily Wells as RCES Kindergarten Teacher, Amber Berkshire as RCMS Paraprofessional, Betty Meers as RCHS Food Service Staff Member, and Mark Steber as Part-Time CTE Teacher – agreed to hire Charles Coil as RCHS Custodian, Nicole Shidler as RCMS Custodian, Payton Howard as RCES Teacher, and Mallory Wagner as RCES Teacher – approved Rachel Kinkade as RCLEC Director – approved eight coaching assignments for the 2026-2027 school year – approved the RCES Team Leaders and the RCME and RCHS Extracurricular Assignments for the 2026-2027 school year – approved 2026 RCMS Summer Tutors and the Summer help as listed : the next regular monthly meeting for the Richland County School Board will be June 25th, 2026.
