(NEWTON) In Boys Junior High Basketball from Saturday (02/03/2024) –
The IESA 7th Grade State Tournaments started at four sites, here’s some results involving area downstate teams.
CLASS 1A :
- Sigel St. Michael’s won its first round game over Lexington, 23-20 in OT
- The Sharpshooters then lost a semi-final game to Lincoln West, 43-34
- Sigel St. Michael’s will play for third place Thursday night at 6:00
CLASS 2A :
- St. Anthony won its first round game by beating Green Valley, 32-12
- The Bullpups then won a semi-final game over Waverly, 40-18
- St. Anthony will now play for the Class 2A State Title Thursday night at 7:30
CLASS 3A :
- Teutopolis lost its first round game to East St. Louis Lincoln, 54-40
- The Junior Wooden Shoes end the year with a record at 25-2
The 7th Grade IESA State Tournament Finals are this Thursday night.
