(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Congresswoman Mary Miller, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, is applauding this week’s advancement of the national Farm Bill out of committee. The third-generation Coles County farmer says she believes the Farm Bill provides the tools and certainty that Illinois farmers need to remain strong and most productive in the world. Some of the key provisions include more than $1 billion for specialty crop programs, protections ensuring California’s Proposition 12 cannot be imposed on producers in other states, and expanded access to credit for beginning farmers. The Farm Bill now goes to the House floor in Washington, D.C.
