(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board of Trustees had its regular monthly meeting for December this past Tuesday night. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : after a public hearing with no comments, the Board approved the 2023 Tax Levy as presented : due to the new Public Act, Removing Barriers to Higher Education Success Act, the Board reviewed and approved revisions to the District’s Americans with Disabilities Act policy : also approved revisions to three other Districtwide policies, including those for Concealed Firearms, the Auxiliary Enterprises Fund, and the Holiday, Leave, & Benefit policy : agreed to issue $6.5 million in Taxable General Obligation Community College Bonds : approved the current IECC student fee structure by removing fees for the Computer Lab, Science Lab, and Online Hybrid Course and then increasing the Technology fee to $9.00 per credit hour starting with the Fall 2024 term : approved the FY23 Audit as prepared by Martin Hood LLC : accepted the $33,740 bid from RKN, LLC for gravel and fill for the temporary Broadband Technology Building at Lincoln Trail College : and in personnel matters – accepted resignations from Denise Givens as TRIO Upward Bound Counselor at OCC and from Javier Milla as Head Men’s & Women’s Soccer Coach at LTC – changed the employment status for Jamie Barbee from TRIO Upward Bound Counselor to College & Career Specialist at OCC – employed Caleb Dunn as Maintenance/Groundskeeper at FCC – and approved the 2023-2024 Bargaining Unit Faculty Seniority List as presented : the next regular monthly meeting for the IECC Board of Trustees will be January 19th, 2024.
