ILLINOIS FARMERS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT PUMPKIN HARVEST AS FAVORABLE WEATHER BOOSTS CROP YIELD

(SPRINGFIELD) Illinois farmers are optimistic about this year’s pumpkin harvest as the weather has been favorable this year with lots of rain, especially early in the growing season, plus mostly cool weather conditions now when the crop is starting to finish out. Federal government figures show that Illinois produced 634 million pounds of pumpkins in 2022, which is more than the next five most productive states combined together.
