(OLNEY) There’s a winner every weekend at the Olney VFW with its next Queen of Hearts drawing, all open to the public, at 4:00 this Sunday afternoon. Following a $20 winner this past weekend, the top jackpot now is now up to $4,104 if the winner is present, or half that amount if not, plus smaller possible card winners as well. And remember, the drawing is live-streamed on the VFW Post page on Facebook. Tickets are now on sale right up until draw time. (STE. MARIE) The Ste. Marie American Legion will host its Annual Mother’s Day breakfast this coming Sunday morning, with serving from 7:00 to 11:00. The menu includes sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits, gravy, toast, coffee, juice, and milk. All are invited this Sunday.

(NEWTON) The Newton American Legion Post 20 will host a “drive thru” during lunchtime this Saturday at 108 East Jourdan Sreet, just east of the square in downtown Newton. That’s from 10:30 in the morning until it’s all gone. Get a pound of pulled pork for $12.00. pulled pork nachos for $7.00, or a pulled pork sandwich with chips for $6.00. All the food provided by and prepared by Mess-In-A Round Barbeque. That’s all this Saturday in Newton.

(FLAT ROCK) All are invited to Saturday morning’s “Meet & Greet” with Thomas Shay, the founder of the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group, who’ll be visiting McCaslin’s Sugar Creek Flea Market, located at 1501 North 1300th Street, just south & back west of Flat Rock, in neighboring Crawford County. (NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton with tickets on sale up until draw time and a jackpot at $8,020. The Queen’s Menu includes choice of breaded tenderloin, fried oysters, or chicken cordon bleu with one side, either fries, onion rings, mushrooms, or potato salad, at $10.00 each per person, with serving to start at 5:00. (OLNEY) The Olney Memorial VFW Auxiliary has another “taco night” coming up this Friday night with serving from 5:30 to 7:30, or until sold out, with call-in orders accepted after 4:00 at 618-392-4226. Also a bake sale and 50/50 drawing with all proceeds to benefit Claws & Paws Animal Rescue Center in Olney. All are invited to stop by or call in orders.
