Olney Middle School Softball
In Junior High Softball action yesterday, the Olney Middle School Lady Cubs fell to Robinson with a final score of 15-2. The Lady Cubs were outhit 9 to 1 by the visiting Lady Raiders. Norah Williams recorded Olney’s only hit and scored the team’s sole run. Summer Smith also crossed the plate for the Lady Cubs.
With a current record of 1-11, the Lady Cubs are set to play at Carmi Saturday morning.
Olney St. Joe Softball
The Olney St. Joe Lady Wildcats were defeated by Hutsonville-Palestine, 19-3. The Lady Wildcats managed just one hit compared to the host Lady Tigers’ eight. Nora McClain led the offense with a double, a walk, and the team’s two runs. Kadence Kocher added an RBI with two walks, while Brilyn Brinkley walked, bringing in an RBI and scoring a run.
The Lady Wildcats, with a record of 5-3, will host West Salem next Tuesday.
Newton Jasper County Softball
In Newton Junior High Softball, the Junior Lady Eagles lost to Salem, 6-2. The Lady Eagles were outhit 9 to 2 by the Lady Wildcats. Paige Wagner led the charge with a double, a walk, and two RBI. Hailey Mulvey also contributed with a single and a walk. Mabry Wolf and Jossie Stanley each scored a run.
The Junior Lady Eagles, now 11-3, are scheduled to host Hutsonville-Palestine today.
