(OLNEY) In Junior High Softball yesterday –
- Olney St. Joe beat North Clay/Clay City, 22-5
Although the host team outhit the Lady Wildcats, 3 to 2
- Winning pitcher – Leah Kuenstler struck out 9 in the shortened 4 inning game
- Top hitter – Leah Kuenstler singled, walked once, with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored
- Nora McClain had St. Joe’s other hit, plus a walk, 1 RBI, and 3 runs scored
- also with RBI’s were Piper Mann, Landree Nelson, Ella Fitch, & Hallie Ochs
St. Joe (1-1) will host Albion next Monday.

- The Middle School Lady Cubs lost to Fairfield, 12-4
Although the Lady Cubs outhit the host team, 3 to 2
- Top hitter – Kenzly Bryan doubled, singled, and walked with 2 RBI and 1 run scored
- Viola Hinckley had Olney’s only other hit
- Lexi Schrader had a base-on-balls and scored 2 runs
The (0-5) Lady Cubs are at Mt. Carmel tomorrow.
(NEWTON) In Junior High Softball yesterday –
- Newton/Jasper County beat Dieterich, 8-5
The Junior Lady Eagles outhit the host squad, 10 to 9
- Winning pitcher – Hailey Mulvey struck out 6 in the complete 7 inning game
- Top hitter – Katie Jansen had 2 hits, a walk, 2 RBI, and 1 run scored
- Jossie Stanley had 2 doubles, an RBI, and a run scored
- Layla Thomann also had 2 hits with a walk and 1 run scored
The (7-2) Junior Lady Eagles are scheduled to host Marshall tomorrow.
