(OLNEY) The Calvary Baptist Church will have a pork burger sale this coming Monday at the old Sears parking lot with serving from 10:00 to 2:00. On sale will be special eclipse burgers with pepperjack cheese and bacon jam. Stop by for a special treat on Monday.

(OLNEY) The Richland County Rotary Club has a cookout set for Monday with serving at the Olney Rural King Store from 10:00 to 2:00. All are invited to stop by there at Big R.

(OLNEY) Hunley House Cila is having a pork burger fundraiser this coming Monday at the Olney Main Street Car Wash with serving from 10:00 to 1:00. It will be pork burgers for $3.00 or a pork burger meal for $5.00. Proceeds go to support the Hunley House activity fund.

(OLNEY) The Trinity Lutheran Church will have a pork burger sale Monday with serving to start at 11:00 there at the east edge of Olney. The Trinity Lutheran PreSchool will have its fundraising pancake breakfast with serving to start at 7:30 Monday morning. All invited.

(OLNEY) The next “Walk With A Doc” in Olney is this Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00. Due to the eclipse activities in the Olney City Park, this weekend’s walk will be at the east edge of Olney, on the Trinity Lutheran Church walking path. All are invited to take part.

(OLNEY) The First Presbyterian Church in Olney will be hosting a special “going away open house” this coming Sunday afternoon, starting at 1:00, to recognize and say “thank you” to Reverend David McNabb & his wife Dolores. All are invited to stop by this coming Sunday.

(OLNEY) The next Olney Coin Show is this coming Sunday afternoon at the Olney VFW, running from 12:00 to 5:00, with free admission. With on-site security provided, the Show will feature a coin auction and numerous dealers on hand. All are invited out this Sunday.

(OLNEY) All are invited this Saturday night to the Olney VFW where the Rift-Raft country band will be performing, starting at 8:00. There will be no cover charge. All are invited.

(SUMNER) The Lawrence County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will have its annual Hunting Heritage Banquet this coming Saturday at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairground Building, along U.S. Route 50, between Sumner and Bridgeport. With the doors opening at 5:30, a social hour will kick things off with a dinner, followed by chances to win or purchase various items, such as framed art, guns, collectibles, outdoor equipment, and more, all through a variety of games, raffles, and auctions, including both silent and live. The banquet tickets are $70.00 for couples or $50.00 for singles and they’re available online at events.nwtf.org or by calling 812-568-6753. Sponsor Memberships are also available for $260 or $270 for couples. All proceeds go to conserve wild turkey habitat and the outdoors.

(WEST SALEM) The Volunteer Firemen’s Association of West Salem will have its Annual Pork Chop Supper this coming Saturday evening, with serving to start at 4:00, at the West Salem Firehouse. Either eat in or carry out, all for donations at the door. Handcapped parking will be available. Proceeds to help firemen with equipment & training expenses.

(OLNEY) The American Legion Post in downtown Olney has a vendor, rummage, and bake sale this Saturday from 7:00 to 2:00. Something for everyone. All are invited.

(SAILOR SPRINGS) The Clay City/Sailor Springs American Legion Post 230 has another first Saturday of the month breakfast this weekend with serving from 7:00 to 10:00 with all-you-can-eat biscuits, gravy, sausage, and drinks for a donation at the door. That’s just off the Clay City/Dieterich Blacktop in Sailor Springs this coming Saturday morning. All invited.

(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton with tickets on sale up until draw time and a jackpot at $6,145. The Queen’s Menu is a ribeye sandwich with fries or turkey Manhattan with corn, your choice at $10.00 each & serving at 5:00. Either dine in or carry out at 108 East Jourdan Street.
