MARY MILLER INTRODUCES ACT TO PROTECT AMERICA’S FARMLAND

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Congresswoman Mary Miller of Illinois earlier this week introduced the Preserving America’s Farmland Act, which would force the Department of Agriculture to assess the impacts that solar panel installations, operation, and decommissioning have on the health of farm soil, livestock, water drainage, and vegetation. The Oakland, Illinois farmer says protecting America’s farmland is crucial to the future of farming and especially now, with the Farm Bill debate, it’s a good time to make something positive happen.
