NEXT WEEK IS SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS WEEK

(OLNEY/NEWTON) Next week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week as local downstate residents are encouraged to join the National Weather Service and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency as they take time each day to highlight the various aspects of being prepared for severe weather. The daily focus will be on Receiving Weather Information on Monday (3/4), Lightning Safety on Tuesday (3/5), Tornado Safety on Wednesday (3/6), Hail & Wind Safety on Thursday (3/7), and Flood Safety on Friday (3/8). Plus next Wednesday morning, the 6th of March, will be the state’s Annual Tornado Drill at 11:00. Now is the time to prepare, don’t wait until severe weather is in the forecast.
