The Olney City Council met in regular session last night, where several important decisions and discussions took place.
Approved Items:
- Payment of all bills as presented.
- Acceptance of a $5,900 bid from Hemrich Excavating for the demolition and clearing of the property at 502 West Chestnut Street.
- Payments for Divisions One & Two of the City’s sanitary sewer lining rehabilitation work.
- Payment for the City’s Main Street storm sewer work.
- Resolution to amend the 2024-2025 City Budget across various departments.
- An ordinance to establish stop signs at the intersections of Shurron Street with North East Street and North Silver Street, as well as at Bonita Lane and North Silver Street.
- A raffle license as requested.
Discussions & Updates:
- Various reports and updates were heard and reviewed.
- The Council discussed an ordinance addressing low-speed gas or electric bicycles within the City.
- Following a brief executive session to discuss real property and personnel, the Council reviewed but took no action on the paving and curb development plans for Main Street after the Storm Water Project.
- The City’s Facade Improvement Grant Program was also discussed.
The next regular meeting of the Olney City Council will be held on Monday, January 27th.
