OLNEY LADY TIGERS FINISH SECOND IN THREE-TEAM GOLF MATCH AT RICHLAND GOLF CLUB

In Girls High School Golf action yesterday, the Oblong Lady Panthers claimed victory in a three-team match at the Richland Golf Club in Olney. Oblong secured the win with a team score of 221, finishing five strokes ahead of second-place Olney, which scored 226. Edwards County rounded out the field in third place with a score of 242.

The Lady Tigers had a strong showing, with their top four golfers finishing in the top eight. Emma Hefferman led Olney with a 5th-place finish, shooting a round of 54. Teammates Katelyn Bookhout and Savannah Ferguson tied for 6th place, each carding a score of 57. Olney’s Aubrie Weidner was close behind in 8th place with a score of 58.

Additional Lady Tiger golfers included Mallory Richardson and Addalyn Runyon. Oblong’s Makenzie McDaniel was the Match Medalist, leading the field with a low round of 48.

The Lady Tigers will look to rebound as they prepare to host Salem in Olney next Monday.
