OLNEY’S WHITE SQUIRREL BLACKOUT

(OLNEY) The City of Olney’s White Squirrel Blackout this weekend no doubt includes at least something for everyone, with plenty of activities running tomorrow night through Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, all sponsored by the City of Olney and the Olney & Greater Richland County Chamber of Commerce. It all starts with food specials, bingo, and other activities at various sites in Olney this Friday night. The museums in Olney will be open both Friday and Saturday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00. The Street Festival throughout the afternoon and night Saturday on Main Street and Whittle Avenue in downtown Olney runs from 12 noon to 10:00, plus plenty of shopping opportunities, children’s activities, special food at area restaurants & clubs, and live entertainment. Folks attending should be alert to all the special street and designated parking areas. Then on Monday, DePaul University is set up along with the University of Illinois Aerospace Engineering Department, the Illinois Space Grant, and the Champaign Astronomical Society to view the solar eclipse in Olney’s Musgrove Park with activities and more from 10:30 to 3:00 on Monday, plus there are many other eclipse viewing areas within Olney and Richland County.
