(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Illinois Petroleum Resource Board still has some openings for its annual Illinois Math & Science Summer Teachers program, to be held June 24th thru 27th, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, which will provide real-world insight into the Illinois oil production industry via an Illinois oil production site field trip and instruction from numerous oil industry professionals, plus a classroom activity kit that can be used to teach lessons from a State Board of Education-approved curriculum. While open to grade 3 through 12 math and science teachers throughout downstate Illinois, those who complete the program will receive professional development hours and grad credits from Illinois State University.
