OPENING STILL AVAILABLE FOR MATH AND SCIENCE TEACHERS TO ATTEND ILLINOIS PETROLIUM RESOURCE BOARD SUMMER TEACHERS PROGRAM

(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Illinois Petroleum Resource Board still has some openings for its annual Illinois Math & Science Summer Teachers program, to be held June 24th thru 27th, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, which will provide real-world insight into the Illinois oil production industry via an Illinois oil production site field trip and instruction from numerous oil industry professionals, plus a classroom activity kit that can be used to teach lessons from a State Board of Education-approved curriculum. While open to grade 3 through 12 math and science teachers throughout downstate Illinois, those who complete the program will receive professional development hours and grad credits from Illinois State University. To date, 832 teachers from 96 Illinois counties have participated in the IPRB Summer Program and registration is available on the eventbrite.com website. Learn more online, at iprb.org.
