(BLOOMINGTON) Economic factors continue to impact agricultural equipment sales in Illinois and across the nation. New data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers shows U.S. sales of tractors in all classes in November dropped 14.5% from last year and the national sales of combines showed a decline of 24% year-to-date in 2024, plus each month this year so far, unit retail sales of two and four wheel drive tractors and combines were below the five year average, and overall sales have been below 2023 levels since May. AEM officials say November’s slowdown in sales can be traced back to high interest rates and uncertainty in the overall ag economy. Go to the aem.org website to view the report.
