LOCAL AND AREA SPORTS REMINDERS

(OLNEY) It’s “Meet the Tigers” Night coming up Friday, August 22nd, at the RCHS Athletic Field in Olney, highlighted by a scrimmage football game between the host Tigers and the visiting Fairfield Mules. As the teams take the field at straight up 6:00, the Marching Tigers will enter the field at around 6:40 with the introduction of all RCHS fall athletes, including football, cheerleaders, girls tennis, boys soccer, volleyball, girls & boys golf, girls & boys cross country, and girls & boys swimming. After the colors are presented by the JROTC and the Marching Tigers play the National Anthem, the scrimmage game is scheduled to start at 7:00. All are invited out to “Meet the Tigers” Night a week from this Friday at RCHS.

(NEWTON) The 2025 “Media Night” at Newton Community High School is set for Friday, August 22nd, and will be similar to the ones in years past. While the football team pictures will be taken at 5:00, the Marching Eagles will begin playing at 6:00 with the fall athletes and others to be introduced starting at around 6:25, including cheerleaders, golf, boys soccer, girls tennis, boys & girls cross country, volleyball, and football. That’s the 2025 Annual “Media Night” a week from this Friday night at NCHS Chizevsky Field in Newton.
