WEDNESDAY WEATHER DISCUSSION (04/24/2024)

(OLNEY/NEWTON) As the fast moving cold front dropping an average of a half inch of rain moves out of Illinois this morning, we’ll dry out with plenty of sunshine on tap today and a northerly wind flow. That’s after some overnight and early morning dense fog throughout our downstate area. An upper level ridge of high pressure will quickly build in with warmer air slowly moving in each day tomorrow through Sunday, however this will bring in our next weather-maker, a strong storm system that will stall out over Illinois, and give us on-and-off rain chances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, some of which could be severe. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more forecast details.
