WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND (02/16/2024)

(STE. MARIE) The Ste. Marie American Legion will again be serving up “walking tacos” this Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00. Either dine in or carry out. Open to the public.

(OLNEY) There’s a winner every weekend at the Olney VFW with its next Queen of Hearts drawing at 4:00 this Sunday afternoon. Following a $10 winner this past weekend, the top jackpot now sits at $1,811 if the winner is present, or half that amount if not present, plus smaller possible card winners as well. Tickets are on sale up until 3:30 Sunday. Stop by for tickets at the VFW on North Walnut Street, north of the courthouse, or call 392-4226.

(OLNEY) The Olney Knights of Columbus will begin their Friday night “Fish Frys” this week at the Olney City Park Community Building, with serving from 5:00 to 7:00, or until sold out. Open to the public, the cost is $12.00 per adult and $8.00 for children ages 12 and under. Either dine in or carry out. This week’s proceeds will benefit Mentor Richland County.

(OLNEY) The Claremont-Bonpas Fire Department and Village of Claremont will start their Friday “Fish Frys” this weekend and continue each Friday through the end of March. With all meals served at the Firehouse in Claremont, the lunchtime serving of fish & fries will run from 11:30 to 2:00 at $10.00 per adult and either dine in or carry out. Then it’s a dinner buffet in the evening with serving from 4:00 to 7:00 including fish, chicken, salad bar, desserts, and much more priced at $15.00 per adult, $10.00 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children age 5 and under. Plus a 50/50 drawing as well. All proceeds to support the Claremont-Bonpas Fire Department and the Claremont Village Park project.

(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:00 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton with tickets on sale up until draw time and a jackpot at $21,340. The Queen’s Menu this week is catfish or shrimp meals with sides, at $12.00 each & serving at 5:00. Dine in at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton or call for carry outs at 618-783-2622.
