YESTERDAY’S ILLINOIS JUNE AG PRICES REPORT

(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s Illinois June Agricultural Prices Report from the USDA : the Agricultural Production Index increased 2.5 percent from May, but decreased four-tenths of a percentage point (0.4) from June 2023 : the Crop Production Index was up 4% from May, but down 11% from June a year ago : the Livestock Production Index increased 3.1% from May and was up 9.6% from June last year : statewide producers received higher prices in June for market eggs, lettuce, and strawberries, but lower prices for tomatoes, peaches, hay, and broilers. In addition to prices in June, there was increased monthly movement for wheat, hay, and peaches and decreased marketing of cattle, market eggs, and broilers.
