(SPRINGFIELD) In yesterday’s USDA Illinois Crop Progress Report, there were 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork on average last week around the state. Illinois’ average temperature was 45.8 degrees last week, 5.6 degrees above normal. The statewide precipitation averaged 0.61 inches last week, 0.05 inches below normal. Topsoil and subsoil moisture supplies are both rated over 60% adequate to surplus. As of Sunday, the state’s winter wheat condition was rated 3% poor to very poor, 17% fair, 77% good, and 3% excellent. While most all of the state’s harvesting is complete, a few fields of corn remain in isolated areas of the state.
