* the Redbirds beat Milwaukee, 6-3
the Cardinals play game three of the four game series against the Brewers tonight

 

(OLNEY)  in High School Baseball yesterday – Olney defeated Altamont
*  The Tigers went on the road and defeated the host Indians 4-2
*  Hits were even aside with 7, Dylan Hires picked up the win on the mound
*  Tigers were led at the plate by Luke Lambird with 2 hits and an RBI.
*  Mason Kocher, Brandon Murphy and Jake Greifzu all had a hit and an RBI

 

(NEWTON) in High School Baseball from yesterday – Newton defeated Oblong
*  The Eagles picked up a 20-4 win over the Panthers outhitting Oblong 11-5
*  Newton was led by John Grunloh 5 RBI performance.  4 RBI from Noah Wagy.
* Other RBI from Mitch Jansen, Lucas Geier, Wade Frohning all with 3 and Ben Britton had 1.
* Nate Meinhart picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles

*  Newton over Olney 7-2  -  Altamont over St. Anthony 7-2
* Newton over St. Anthony 4-1  -  Olney over Altamont 8-5
* Newton over Altamont 6-4  -  St. Anthony over Olney 6-0
* Newton won the tournament going 3-0
* Altamont, St. Anthony and Olney all wen 1-2

(OLNEY)  nearly 150 girls and boys basketball players will converge on the campus of Wabash Valley College this weekend for the Annual Tri-State All-Star games - there will be five junior high games today with the girls playing at 10:00 and 11:30 in the morning - the junior high boys' games will be this afternoon at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 - then on Sunday, there were be four high school games with players selected from Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky - admission for the All-Star games at the Spencer Sports Center is $5 per person per day

the Tigers won all six of the singles matches
* Connor Walker won the #1 singles match, 6-0, 6-0
* Austin Atwood won the #2 singles match, 6-2, 6-0
* Tanner Hendrickson won the #3 singles match, 6-0, 6-1
* Jack Bettis won the #4 singles match, 6-1, 6-0
* Kye Stallard won the #5 singles match, 6-3, 7-6, 9-7
* Adam Brewer won the #6 singles match, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4
Olney won all three of the doubles matches
* Connor Walker and Tanner Hendrickson won the #1 doubles match, 6-0, 6-0

the Lady Tigers fell to Harrisburg, 7-2 out on Ed Webber Field at Olney Central College
* Olney's two goals were both scored by Nadja Schwartz
the Lady Tigers are back in soccer action next Monday at the Centralia Tournament

the Tigers beat Robinson, 10-0 as Olney outhit the visiting Maroons, 9 to 4
* Mason Kocher was the winning pitcher in five innings of shutout baseball
* Olney was led by Mason Kocher and Landon Pride each with two hits and one RBI
* Luke Lambird had a two RBI double and Braxton Burgener had an RBI double
the 10-6 Tigers are back in action today in a non-LIC game at Altamont

the Eagles beat Lawrenceville, 2-1 although the visiting Indians outhit Newton 9 to 8
* John Grunloh was the winning pitcher while Mitch Jansen picked up a save in relief
* Mitch Jansen had three hits and one RBI and Lucas Geier had a two hit game
the 7-5 Eagles are back in action today when they host Oblong in Newton

the Lady Tigers fell to Robinson, 6-5 as the visiting Lady Maroons outhit Olney, 10 to 6
* Sophia Colclasure led Olney with two hits and Aaliyah Wease had an RBI hit
* Jesika Ochs and Kennedy Steber each had an RBI hit
the 12-5 Lady Tigers are back in action at the Newton Round Robin Tournament today

the Lady Eagles beat Lawrenceville, 7-3 as Newton outhit the Lady Indians, 9 to 7
* Kristen Hardiek was the winning pitcher
* Allison Russell had two hits and two RBI and Olivia Shipman had two hits and one RBI
the 6-4 Lady Eagles are back in action today hosting the Newton Round Robin Tournament

the Cubs beat 2nd place Robinson, 88.5 to 76.5
* Palestine and New Hebron tied for 3rd place, each with 20 points
Olney won seven of the fourteen varsity events
* Jonas Burckhartt, Barak Berger, Garrett Wright, and Jacob Taylor won the 1600 meter relay
* Gavin Kirby won both the 800 meter run and 1600 meter run
* Saul Jones won the 100 meter low hurdles
* Jonas Burckhartt won the pole vault
* Dylan Reed won the shot put

(OLNEY)  nearly 150 girls and boys basketball players will converge on the campus of Wabash Valley College this weekend for the Annual Tri-State All-Star games - on Saturday, April 22nd, there will be five junior high games with the girls playing at 10:00 and 11:30 in the morning - the junior high boys' games will be that afternoon at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 - then on Sunday, April 23rd, there were be four high school games with players selected from Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky - admission for the All-Star games at the Spencer Sports Center is $5 per person per day

* the Blue Knights lost to Wabash Valley, 10-1 in a single nine inning game
* the Blue Knights are now 33-7 on the year, now 14-2 in the GRAC
OCC has a non-conference doubleheader today at Danville Area Community College

 

(OLNEY)  in Junior College Softball yesterday - OCC dropped three of four games
* the Lady Knights split two Monday against Kaskaskia, winning 4-3 and losing 4-2
* the Lady Knights dropped two yesterday to Lake Land, 15-3 and 10-0
* OCC is now 24-20 on the year, now 13-17 in the GRAC
the Lady Knights have a non-GRAC twinbill today at Danville Area Community College

* with multiple top hitters, the winning pitcher was Braxton Burgener

the Lady Tigers beat Salem, 10-4 as Olney outhit the host Lady Wildcats, 16 to 12
* Sophia Colclasure was the winning pitcher
* Sophia Colclasure had 4 hits and 3 RBI - Paige Ginder & Cheyla Lamb each had 2 hits
* Aaliyah Wease and Madisyn Wease each had a home run, both in the 5th inning

* Landon Pride led Olney at the plate with a home run, a double, and four RBI
* Lucas Harmon had two hits and four RBI

* Hunter Gray won the 200 meter dash
