(NEWTON) In Girls High School Basketball last night –
Newton swept two games at home against Effingham St. Anthony
- The Lady Eagles won the varsity game, 59-50
Camryn Martin had a double/double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Macy Barthelemy added 14 points and Karasyn Martin had 13 points.
- Newton also won the shortened junior varsity game, 13-8
The junior varsity squad finishes the year at 16-2, 6-0 against LIC teams, The varsity Lady Eagles end the regular season at 19-10, 5-2 in the LIC.
Newton will host Flora tomorrow at 1:00 in Class 2A Regional action.

- Paris beat Altamont, 52-42
- Mt. Carmel beat Wayne City/Cisne, 57-23

- Sandoval/Odin/Patoka beat South Central, 59-46
- Effingham beat Mt. Zion, 38-29
- Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City beat Ramsey, 54-32
- Salem beat East Alton-Wood River, 65-37
Some of the IHSA Girls Basketball Regionals start tomorrow, with all Regionals in all four classes to finish up next week.
