(NEWTON) In High School Varsity Softball yesterday –

  • Newton won at home, edging out Olney, 3-2 in 11 innings

The Lady Eagles outhit the visiting Lady Tigers, 10 to 2

  • winning pitcher – Amelia Collins, striking out 3 in the last 4 innings of the game
  • at the plate – Lexie Grove had a double, 3 singles, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored
  • Avery Mulvey had 2 hits and Bailey Frichtl singled, walked, and scored
  • other hits by Allie Stanley, Lilly Kessler, and Sally Mahaffey

The (16-5/2-0) Lady Eagles are scheduled to host Mt. Carmel today

(OLNEY) In High School Varsity Softball yesterday –

  • Olney lost a tough extra innings game at Newton, 3-2 in 11 innings

The Lady Tigers were outhit by the host Lady Eagles, 10 to 2

  • At the plate – Rylee Bloomer had Olney’s only RBI hit
  • Taylor Bloomer had Olney’s only extra base hit, a double

The (10-6/2-1) Lady Tigers are scheduled to host Hutsonville/Palestine tomorrow

  • Mt. Carmel beat Grayville, 21-3
  • Cumberland beat Lawrenceville, 4-3
